- Started career as an Associate professor in the department of Political Science, University of Rajasthan. Served there for 8 years
- Appeared for Civil Services in 1987 got selected as Assistant Commandant in Central Industrial Security Force, didn’t join
- Re-appeared in 1991 Civil Services Exam got selected for Revenue Service in 1992. Served the Department of Revenue (Indirect Taxes) CBIC for 28 years in various capacity at different Commissionerate worked extensively in Customs, Service Tax, Central Excise and GST formations
- Got commendation and rewards in service at several occasions.
- Detected several cases of Fraud and smuggling in Customs as well as Service tax and GST
- Having extensive knowledge on Customs Act, its Rules and Regulations and Allied Acts
- Also has authority in Service Tax/ Central Excise Act and now under GST Act
- Has been a course coordinator for GST’s training to the State Government officials of Sales Tax Department at the time of Introduction of GST in Mumbai 2017
- After retirement launched this firm K C Kala Legal Solution LLP as one of the founding partner in 2022

Senior Executive Management Development, Finance planning and services in 2018 from Cambridge Judge Business School and The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)
Executive Management Development Programme, Finance and General, Banking, Corporates and Security Law from the Lee Kuan Yew school of Public Policy (LKY) and Sungkyun Kwan University (SKY) in 2014.
All these Executive Management Programme were conducted by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Finance.
